This paper will focus on a particular moment in this process: the eight months ranging from October 17, to the dissolution of the communist unions in July In particular, two cases will be highlighted: the Metallurgical Industry and Textile Workers Union. Both had been two successful experiences of communist militancy activation.

The aim of this paper is to shed some light on the transnational connections and anti-imperial intentions of the League against Imperialism and for National Independence LAI, The paper was presented at the First International Willi Münzenberg Congress, Berlin Victor Kheyfets Jeifets. Andreas Stergiou. Bernhard H Bayerlein. This paper questions the historiography of the sympathizing organization the League against Imperialism LAI by focusing the discussion on relevant facts and factors essential for a general understanding of the history of the LAI and its legacy.
The LAI is without hestiance typical of the above. The paper includes a concise outline on the history of the LAI, and concludes its discussion with a critical assessement that questions nostalgia as a framework to produce and install historical knowledge.
